Additional membership information

The Sunrise Kiwanis Club of Lapeer is part of Kiwanis International, a service organization with over 400,000 members worldwide. There are 260 clubs in the Michigan, 11 of which are in our Flint area division, including two in Lapeer. See www.kiwanisinternational.com

Our local club was chartered October 1, 2001, and has as a goal to limit its focus to one or two main fundraisers and a few service projects each year. We meet every Wednesday morning from 7:30am to 8:30am at the Farmhouse Restaurant. Breakfast is available. The meetings are full of fun and fellowship (as you can see), with a special emphasis on getting to know each other and making good and lasting friends.  We keep the meetings short, informative, productive and FUN !

 Our main functions are the “Lapeer Celebrates Art” show, which happens in June each year, providing funding for the Schickler and Turrill schools’ “Back Pack” food program, helping with local blood banks, and supporting a couple local needy organizations.

 Kiwanis also has a youth division. We support the Lapeer West Key Club, which is part of Kiwanis International’s high school program, the largest service organization of its type in the world.

 There is a onetime $75.00 induction fee and the dues are just $10.00 per month.
